This is a coworker's housewarming/BBQ/going to vacation party. I was planning to go to Yoshi's today and listen to some jazz, but instead I hung out with my coworkers party in Menlo Park, CA. She has a quaint 1 bedroom in a really nice neighborhood. I ended up being the cook.

Barack Hussein Obama is almost done. This has been pretty fun to paint. I really like how I painted his hands. I need to finish his mouth and add some shadows and highlights and I will be done. Also on some good news, I will be showing more of my art. There is a sake lounge in San Jose, CA which has a rotating art gallery every month. I was chosen for July. The owner apparently liked my work, so a big woo hoo because I will get to showcase 5 art pieces! Praise God!

Ok, so I am on my way painting Obama. I haven't started on the face. I am almost finished with his hands. Hands are really tough to paint for me. I don't know I guess I have painted a lot of portraits. He is pretty fun to paint. The face should be an interesting adventure, we shall see. Oh and today I tried yogurt soda at a Persian grocery store near the art studio. It is quite refreshing, I was expecting sweet, but it was minty and sour. So day 199 is done. Wow day 200 is tomorrow. I can't believe I have taken a picture a day for 200 days....

This came out really blurry, but its all good. I had a blast with friends coming over for good game of Texas hold'em poker. I haven't played in over a year and a half. It is all good. Served all the fruit I cut up from yesterday. It was a healthy poker night I guess. No chips, salsa, peanuts, I served cherries, cantelope, watermelon, and peaches. Oh wells, gettin' older I guess.

I really love watermelon. I think this is because I grew up in the Philippines and we always had fruit when I was a kid. I ended up cutting up watermelon, some cantalope, peaches, and some cherries. This is for tomorrow. I am going to have friends over tomorrow for some fun, poker, fruit, and pizza. Day 197 is complete. I am also thinking about a new walkaround lens. Tamron? Sigma? or just Canon L? I have no idea...This camera hobby is addictive.

This was at a stop light in San Francisco on a beautiful sunny mid-day Saturday. Everyone is out and about. I sort of got lost on my way to meet my sister, brother-in-law, nephew, my brother-in-law's sister, and her husband. I was running late, so I took this of the madness of people walking to a farmer's market in Embarcadero. Whenever the sun comes out in San Francisco, everyone plays outside. I finally met up with them and we had lunch. I highly don't suggest fiddling with the XTi while driving. It is extremely dangerous, especially while trying to drive in SF traffic.

Anyways, I also went to camera store off Chestnut. I tried out a Tamron lens, and 85mm Canon prime.

I had lunch with a new friend today. We went to Jin Sho again. She had this beautiful Chirashi plate (BTW, She took the picture). The Japanese food here is really pretty good. It is my new lunch time favorite.
