Life: Hey hay (week 10,66/365,shinsato)

Here's a shot of a wall of hay we had put up last summer which has been feeding our sheep, llamas, and goats.

Light, Life, & Love: Glory (week 10,65/365,shinsato)

Yes, another picture of Saint Mary's peak. Glory be to God.

Light: Quiet night (week 10,64/365,shinsato)

My wife lit this candle. We had a quiet night at home, which was nice.

Life: More bear brew (week 9,63/365,shinsato)

A professor at the University of Montana recommended the German club to me as well as a native speaker tutor. I grabbed this shot before going into the cafe for my weekly tutoring session.

Life: Caffeine for students (week 9,62/365,shinsato)

This is a cafe a block away from the University of Montana at Missoula, called Bear's Brew Coffee House. A group of students have been meeting there for the German club, where I got to practice, though only one teacher showed up to let me know they're moving to another spot.

Light: Sky trampoline (week 9,61/365,shinsato)

The creator shows so much for me in the glory of the mountains. We have a trampoline that I use to keep healthy, about 100 jumps a day. It gives exercise as well as helps with the circulation. Saint Mary's Peak is shrouded in a crown of clouds.

Anyways, I had dinner @ Google this evening, and I have to tell you it is a crazy place. There is free good food every day and every meal for all employees. I guess it is what happens when you are at $300/share. I don't know though, I can't justify giving people who already have money free food, when there are hungry and homeless people who have nothing to eat on El Camino Real (which is literally less than 10 miles away) I don't know it is a bit ridiculous to me. If Google can feed thousands of people everyday, then why can't Google feed homeless people in their community? They talk about "doing no evil" in their company mission, but they never talk about doing any good either. It is a bit ridiculous what people find valuable in internet advertising. I give the company 3 years until major lay-offs... maybe 5 if they can manage things.

I did this painting a while ago. I like this Magritte painting. I did this all on acrylic. The original Magritte was done in oil. Anyways, I really can't believe this is day 95. This project is the best project ever.

Here is the original Magritte

I am hella pissed at myself for not being uber meticulous with regards to downloading pictures from my camera to my Mac. I accidentally selected all new and clicked on delete. Perhaps I was doing it in a hurry. Anyways, I originally wanted to share pictures of the new art I have been working on, but I accidentally deleted them. It is supposed to be of this sick nasty dunk of Baron Davis on Andrei Kirilenko from last year's playoffs. Instead I had to scramble and take pictures of oranges for project 365. I don't have a lot of orange color on my set so I figure why not.

I am still a bit sick, but I finally had some energy to get out of the house and visit a college friend in San Francisco. I wanted to take some pictures of the city and it was a beautiful day in the city. It was warm, blue clear skies, and no wind. It was an awesome day. Anyways, I got some inspiration from other Flickr people. This was taken up in the Marin headlands. This a great view of San Francisco Bay.

Light & Life: For the birds (week 9,60/365,shinsato)

I took a hike out on the Lee Metcalf National Wildlife Refuge this Sunday. I liked the shape of the old tree with the raptor nest atop it contrasted against the backdrop of the sky and the Bitterroot mountains. There are a number of similar nests that have been built on the refuge for eagles and the like.

Life & Love: 70 Year Birthday (week 9,59/365,shinsato)

Saturday night over 100 people gathered together to honor Ethel MacDonald's 70 year birthday. Ethel has been prominent in the peace movement in the area when she was the executive director of the Jeanette Rankin Peace Center. Ethel is also an avid cyclist and runner as well as drummer. As part of the birthday party her out of town sons put on for her was a private concert from the Drum Brothers, who have also taught many local people African drumming. Ethel and I have been classmates which is how my wife and I were invited. She's an amazing person.

I like the angle of this shot. His jacket reminds me of Maggie Simpson's jacket from The Simpson's cartoon. Anyways, I also used the ElusivePhotography's free action.
