It was a gloomy rainy morning. I drove to San Francisco to get some art supplies at Flax on Market Street. I managed to take a picture of this trolley on the way to the store. Maybe I am getting older, but I can not see myself living in the city. It just seems very busy with lots of activity. Also I am going to try to follow the Project365 weekly ideas. So the last week's idea was transportation. Although I will still follow the guidelines of light, life, and love.

Love: Baby's feet (week 1, 7/365, msjoo2)

I can't take enough photos of my baby's hands and feet. There is something that tiny hands and feet express about this stage in their lives that nothing else does.

Light: Shadows (week 1, 6/365, msjoo2)

Life: Raindrops on leaflets (week 1, 5/365, msjoo2)

This was just outside my door last week when it rained in the morning. I never think much of the plants outside my doorway, but when I look closely I realize that they are beautiful and fresh...alive.

I tried to capture my art piece and I managed to capture a shadow of myself as well. I like the shadow picture. I didn't want my shadow to be on the canvas. Then I started taking shots of just the shadow. It is interesting trying to take a picture of just the shadow and at the same time don't show the camera. This one I looks like a typical tourist shot. I also like playing with the sepia and the exposure stuff. I have no idea what I am doing.

I wonder how old this tree has been living. I wonder if it knows there are crazy work oriented people drive by it every day to their monochromatic, meaningless, and mundane jobs. Hmmm I guess this 365 makes me appreciate trees like this one. Who am I kidding nobody really reads what I write.

I still have symptoms of a cold and for lunch I wanted some Vietnamese beef noodle soup (Pho) to warm me up, but the Pho place was closed. So I went to the breakfast place next to it and I ordered corned beef hash browns. This really hit the spot. I liked this meal a lot. I decided to make the smiley face for my 3rd grade moment and then capture the smiley face before I ate it all.

This is amazing because he was like less than 10 lbs. just last Christmas. I hope everyone had a nice Christmas and I want to say God bless and happy holidays to all!

So I got up and drove up the windy roads of Skyline and took some spectacular shots of the Silicon Valley. I really liked this one it is a yellow flower over looking the Peninsula. This was taken up Skyline near the Thomas Fogarty Winery you can see the Peninsula, San Jose, and if you are lucky San Francisco on a clear day. The drive up is spectacular and I highly recommend it. Anyways, today was a good 365 photo essay day. Have a very Merry Christmas eve. I am sure Santa will be bringing the goodies for everyone. God Bless!

It's fascinating to me how much hidden light and color is often encoded in an image -- shades and hues that you might never see until you play around in Photoshop. (As you probably figured out by now, I'm not much of a photography purist.) Anyway, here's a Christmas tree that might as well be gilded in gold. Click on it to see the original. Merry Christmas, everyone!
