I finished this Louis Armstrong art piece. It is 40 X 30 inches. All my paintings are pretty big. I like to paint with large canvases, because it gives me freedom with color and design. I am pretty happy with this piece. I used new bold colors like violet for the trumpet and olive green for the background and some light yellow/greens as well. I think this may be my last jazz man piece. I like painting people who have a confidence, a coolness or an energy about them. If I am going to paint something which takes me 10-15 hours it might as well be something cool and energetic. It would be drag to paint depressing content. I am considering painting Obama for the next piece. I know it is pretty mainstream, but what the heck I think I will entitle it "Si Se Puede!" Or something catchy from his campaign. Anyways, it is Tuesday which means art day!

Ok so here are my 3 pieces of art on display at the Red Rock Coffee in Mountain View, CA. They are displayed upstairs. My first pieces have been on display since November. The James Brown and Dexter Gordon were dropped off a couple of weeks ago. Man this feels really great to display my pieces to the public. For about 4 years most of my pieces have been in my apartment. I mean don't get me wrong it is great to have a gallery for an apartment with pieces of art, but there is something very fun about displaying them in front of people. Also on some other good news, I have another display/gallery at the Koji Sake Lounge in downtown San Jose in July. They rotate their artists every month and some of my other pieces will be shown as well:

Oh man I am exactly half done with project 365(6). Anyways, here is the nephew playing with his toy. I can't believe I have made it to day 183. I feel really blessed by God for letting me see things around the world and meeting such a wonderful, inspirational, and talented community on Flickr. So here's to another 183 days of light, life, and love. :-)

And some other good news, this Sake Lounge will hopefully show my work in July. They rotate their art work every first Friday of the month. So woo hoo for my art!
