Day 2 - I woke up @ 5:45am this day to try to explore the city of Venice in the early morning. I took some nice shots of St. Mark's square and the main canal. What was crazy to me was after about 2 hours, St . Mark's filled out to some 10,000 people within 3 hours after I woke up. The previous evening rained a little bit, but this next day turned out to be a beautiful day in Venice. My family wanted to experience the gondola ride so we asked our hotel where we could hire someone for such a ride. He quickly made a couple a of phone calls and within 30 min. he said a gondola operator would swing by the hotel to pick us all up. The gondola ride lasted about 45 min. through the canals of Venice. This was really a cool experience. Too bad the gondola guy didn't sing "O solo mio." That would have been epic.

Day 1 - We took a water taxi from the Marco Polo Airport in Venice to our hotel called Hotel Columbuna. This was an awesome way experience to see Venice for the first time! There was a little bit of a delay in Frankfurt, Germany. The Frankfurt airport is crazy confusing and under construnction. There are 3 levels and we didn't find the tram from concourse A to B,C,D,E so we walked like 3/4 of a mile to concourse B. Anyways, the airplane landed in Venice and by this time I was happy to take my first shots of Venice.

This boarding pass starts the 2 week European cruise with my family. Aaah good times. I really was not expecting a lot from this trip other than just seeing cool places with my family. I wanted to continue the project365 while I was at these cool places. My mom pretty much booked everything and she loves cruises so I said sure why not.

Here is the itinerary

SFO - Frankfurt - Venice -Split Croatia - Athens/Piraeus - Istanbul - Mykonos - Kusadasi - Santorini - Katakolon - Venice - Frankfurt - SFO.

My parents just flew into San Jose, we fly tomorrow to Frankfurt, Germany then off to Venice, Italy for a 12 day cruise. I am super excited now, I think it didn't really hit me yet. And now less than 18 hours away, it is finally hitting me. I haven't been outside another continent since 2004. It should be a lot of fun. So this will be my last Flickr post till May 9th. I promise to upload some awesome pics from this European Cruise. Thank you to like my 4 contacts who visit my project 365. I like doing this project because it is just about having the discipline to stick with it.

I forgot the name of these cats. They were the showcase tonight. I had the same white fender strat guitar. I sold it last year, because I had 3 guitars. I had too many guitars. Now I only have a bass guitar and a classical guitar. I know you can never have enough guitars, but I wasn't down to play it all the time. The classical is my bread and butter guitar.

I read Where's is baby's belly button? to my nephew. It is fun reading to him. He gets to point at things and recognizes ducks, balloons, babies, and trucks. Early childhood development is amazing. He likes to copy anything you do. And he runs really fast which is pretty crazy for my sister and brother-in-law. Oh yeah and the bear's name is Bubba.
